ActifBase publishes free financial calculators that help individuals make saving, investing and tax decisions with the numbers in front of them.

Who we are

The site is published by FOCH CONSULTING, a company based in Paris, France. It was founded by MG, who comes from investment and wealth management. ActifBase started in French at actifbase.fr and now covers the United States and the United Kingdom, with calculators built for each country's own tax rules rather than translated.

We do not sell financial products and we do not promise returns: our tools show orders of magnitude, they do not predict the future.

How we work

  • Official figures, dated. Tax rates and thresholds come from primary sources (IRS revenue procedures, GOV.UK). Each calculator lists its sources and the date they were checked, and is updated when the rules change.
  • Tested formulas. Every calculation engine is covered by automated tests on worked examples computed by hand, including edge cases.
  • Transparent assumptions. Each page explains its formula and what it does not include.
  • Privacy by design. Calculations run in your browser; we never see the amounts you enter.

How the site is funded

ActifBase is free and will be funded by advertising, clearly separated from the content. Advertisers have no influence on our calculations or articles.
